Palak Paneer
A nutritious and flavorful dish featuring paneer cubes in a smooth, spiced spinach gravy.
Prep Time: 35 - 40 mins | Difficulty: Easy
Ingredients You'll Need 🛒:
- 500g Fresh Spinach (Palak), blanched and pureed
- 200g Paneer, cubed (lightly fried if preferred)
- 1 large Onion, finely chopped
- 2 medium Tomatoes, pureed
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds (Jeera)
- 1 tbsp Ginger-Garlic paste
- 2 Green chilies, slit
- Spices: Salt, Garam Masala, Turmeric
- 1 tbsp Heavy cream or butter for finishing
Step-by-Step Cooking Instructions 👨🍳:
- Blanch the spinach in boiling water for 2 minutes, then immediately plunge into cold water to retain the green color. Blend into a smooth puree.
- Heat oil or ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they sizzle, add the chopped onions and sauté until translucent.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Sauté for another minute.
- Add the tomato puree and cook until the moisture evaporates and oil begins to separate.
- Pour in the spinach puree and add salt, turmeric, and garam masala. Mix well and cook for 5 minutes on medium-low heat.
- Gently fold in the paneer cubes. Simmer for 2-3 minutes so the paneer absorbs the flavors.
- Turn off the heat and stir in fresh cream or a dollop of butter.
- Serve hot with Makki di Roti or steamed Basmati rice.
